The Holly & Ivy Inn (Permanently Closed)

Impeccable is the first word that comes to mind about this property! It is beautifully and tastefully done. My wife and I chose to stay here for our 50th wedding anniversary and the timing was perfect. We greatly enjoyed the location and the peaceful setting. We recently completed travels to Europe and have traveled extensively. Rarely have I seen an accommodation that we enjoyed as much as we did The Holly and Ivy Inn. Kristen and Kevin are wonderful innkeepers and quite personable.

We had an early a.m. meeting in Hickory and chose the Holly & Ivy Inn over a hotel. A great decision! Our suite was beautifully designed with warm colors and so many conveniences and upgrades not often seen in a nearly 100-year-old home. The gorgeous pink-hued breakfast room -- well-stocked with healthy choices -- is absolutely stunning. Owners Kristen and Kevin could not have been kinder with dining and local sights suggestions. We walked to nearby Geppeto's for dinner (perfect!), and strolled the idyllic downtown Newton, which has recently undergone renovation. We highly recommend the Inn and look forward to our next visit!

Such a beautiful place to stay! The owners were so nice and accommodating. The decor was gorgeous. Beds super comfortable. Very relaxing. If you have reason to be in Newton or nearby this is a wonderful place to stay.

Holly and Ivy is a gorgeous, comfortable, welcoming and very reasonably priced B&B. The hosts offer many great suggestions for places to visit and things to do in the area. Newton is growing with several new shops and restaurants to try. Many are just a short walk from the inn. My room on the first floor was lovely with an extremely comfortable mattress and linens. The bathroom was well stocked with everything I needed. The entire home is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts are very friendly and eager to please. I highly recommend the Holly and Ivy when visiting the Hickory or Newton areas.

Another Wonderful Stay at The Holly & Ivy Inn! Every time we stay at The Holly & Ivy Inn, we’re impressed by the beautiful updates. The entire property is meticulously maintained and impeccably clean. The continental breakfast and snacks are perfect—thoughtful, fresh, and just enough. Kristen and Kevin are exceptional hosts: warm, welcoming, and always accommodating. This was our fourth visit, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we’re in town. The Holly & Ivy Inn is truly a local gem and a must-stay in the area! We can't wait to return.
