The Historic West Walker Motel

I really wanted to love this place. It had a lot of pros and cons. It was newly rennovated and clean. I loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the comfy bed. BUT it was way smaller than it showed in the photo. We rented room #1 which appears to be a little cabin in the photos. It was not. There was a faux front on a regular room to make it look bigger and they must have used a wide angle lens. It was a tiny room. You couldn't even open the bathroom door if you were using the kitchenette. And while they thought of some nice additions like spices in the tiny kitchen area, they totally missed super important things like ANYWHERE to put your clothes. The place was clean and comfortable bed although we froze all night and morning due to the heater was not working right. We finally called in the morning and was told they would Dave someone come look at it. After waiting and Not hearing back from anyone I called again and asked if we could have a later Che k out as we could not even take showers because it was too cold in there. Mind you this was the winter freezing time of year. A gentleman then called us back and ironically the heater finally came on. We to,d him not to worry now but we should have had if come out as the heater came on and off again. We took quick showers and left as we had plans and had to leave. Never stayed here before and I’m sure the summer is great but winter you’ve got to make sure your heaters work. W

😊: Easy self check-in and clear instructions. We didn't expect a fully equipped kitchen but we had everything we needed and more. Including a big fridge and freezer which came in handy to keep food fresh before driving to the national park. Large room, large bed and bathroom..

Positive: "" Negative: I never got an email or text with my entry code, so when we arrived and no one was there to check us in it felt like we were stranded in the middle of the desert! The owner finally did call us after a 40 minute wait.

The room was nice but far too small. There was no kettle, which was disappointing. The bathroom was large, but there were hairs on the floor and there was no water pressure in the shower. It could be a good motel if the room had been clean.
