The High'D Away

I wanted a primitive campsite after viewing the eclipse in Northern Maine. I searched what was available and found this site. I am very glad I did. You could not ask for more gracious hosts than Lisa and Skip. They made me feel right at home. As this was my first visit to Maine, I used the campsite as a home base while I explored the area in the daytime. I had a great time and can recommend their camp to anyone. I did not stay in a cabin, so I can't offer any info in that regard but I would not expect any issues as Lisa and Skip are such nice folk.

Personally floored by how wonderfully magical, unique and comfortable this place is! Stumbled upon in wistful travel, and plan to visit again as a concrete base point in destination as we continue our future ventures. Felt so incredibly home here, I wanted to stay forever!

Lisa and Skip have a beautiful little campsite. A great community of people, good food, and good times all around. The cabins are very cozy and the beds are super comfy ! We are definitely planning to stay again this summer and possibly in the winter.

I spent the weekend here and had a wonderful time! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming; their friends were welcoming which made you feel like family while you stay here! There is tent sites along with camps with and entertainment area where you can play cornhole or listen to band that may come by to play! While I'll was there I explored the area that had beautiful views, streams you could get to to fish or just relax, I found picturesque barns and homesteads along with all the fields. We had a chance to do some fishing with good luck!! If your looking for a simple, friendly place to go, this is definitely the spot!! I will be a returning guest and I am looking forward to my next stay with all the great people I met!!

We had a fantastic time staying at the High’d Away Lodge! Lisa, Skip, and the whole community make everyone feel welcome. Lisa has a great instinct for the details and touches that distinguish her as a great host and all around excellent person! The cabins are delightful and the countryside stunning.
