The Hackett Hotel

The staff was great! The room was very nice but the thermostat took the temperature to 90 degrees. No one to call! Had to open the door and window. My wife became ill because of the temperature. It was worked on the next day and was better but still unable to be controlled by occupants. Also, the second night the common area for guests was taken over for a private dinner. Nevertheless the food was great and again, the staff (when on site) was great!

The Riley Suite was very comfortable but also subject to a lot of outside noise as it is on the street-side of the building. There were several minor condition issues with the room, but they did not affect our stay. The stairs to the rooms provide a good workout and are a bit steep in addition to being numerous, so holding the handrail is advised. The dining area includes a full refrigerator/freezer and microwave, but the hotel only provides a couple of kinds of breakfast-serving size cereal, orange juice, milk, tea bags and a limited selection of Keurig coffee. ||The Galley restaurant at street level below the hotel is very good but does not serve breakfast. It would be nice if the Hackett provided a coupon for breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants (strongly recommend the Busy

Very clean and quiet. Enjoyed my stay. I got used to climbing the 40+ stairs. Bed clean and comfortable.

This is NOT a hotel for you if you can't walk up 2 flights of steep stairs! It's gorgeous, but the walk up, especially with luggage, not fun.

We stayed 2 nights in the Williams room. It was neat and clean, the bathroom spotless. (I was a bit hesitant given the locations early history) We checked in on a Sunday following the specific instructions without any problems. Beware there are 2 sets of stairs about 20 steps each divided by a landing. So If you have a problem with stairs this might not be the place for you. We only had a couple of drinks in the bar, the serving staff were very friendly. Apparently a very popular place! We were not disappointed with anything at all!
