Lots of history and personality at this inn! Comfortable rooms and lovely places to sit and relax inside and outside. Our room shared a bathroom with another room but I enjoyed the common dining area and living room. If you can get a reservation at the attached restaurant, it’s delicious! I marked one star for service because I never actually interacted with any staff before or during my stay. But thankfully we had no issues or needs. Great place!!
My husband, our pup, and I had an excellent stay here. The hotel is very clean and well cared for. We loved the charm and appreciated all the attention to detail. We stayed here late Feb/early Mar and were plenty warm. We'll be back in the summer. Cute little getaway :)
This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here for work. I absolutely love the charm and vintage feel of the Inn. I’ve been able to experience both suites. Both rooms are very well decorated. This time around, I stayed in the Clemens Suite. Actually, all the rooms look very well decorated! In the Clemens Suite, I loved the view. It was the perfect start and end of each day! The bed was super comfortable and so glad there was a small fridge in that room too as I had brought my own snacks. It is a great place to just unwind. I’m definitely coming back for vacation!
The Gilded Drifter is an absolute gem! Every corner of this charming old mansion is full of antiques, books and treasures, it's like staying in a movie set. Each room is thoughtfully outfitted for a comfy stay and the beds are super comfortable. The rooms are spacious and light filled, many overlooking the Sierra Valley which is stunning in every season. Watching the sunset from the bay window in the Clemens Suite is such a treat. The outdoor patio area and shared living room are both lovely places to hang. The Drifter's Table downstairs serves excellent dinner and is most definitely worth a visit if you come in season. I also highly recommend the frog-sty, the cutest little burger and ice cream shack down the street for lunch, and Smithneck farms for coffee and a pastry in the morning.
Have stayed here twice, years apart, and the place has the same charm and feels like a home away from home. Chelsea is super responsive, and the property is well kept, beautifully decorated, clean, and has a lot of charm.||||Great location close to many good trails and while a quick drive to plenty of things to do, feels remote enough to enjoy a true escape.||||It is important to read the property description and information provided online - it's an old house - and it feels (and sounds) like an old house, but that's part of the charm. Also, all the guests abided by quiet hours, so despite creeky floorboards, the place was super quiet and relaxing after 9pm and it was easy to get a good night's sleep. Great butlers pantry well stocked with just about anything anyone could need.
