The Desoto Inn

We absolutely loved our stay at the Desoto Inn! Just steps from the beach, yet quiet and peaceful, it’s the perfect spot to relax. The garden is beautiful and full of charm, and the free bike rentals were a great way to explore the boardwalk. Christian, the host, is fantastic friendly, helpful, and truly cares about making your stay special. The whole staff was welcoming and attentive. Our room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Hollywood, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

Hard to know how to rate the Desoto. I knew what it was before coming and didn't have high expectations. It met my expectations as basic as they were however rating this as anything above an average hotel would be a stretch. The rooms are nice and clean and well-appointed while also being very basic and dated. I took advantage of many little details such as beach chairs, coolers, etc. The grounds have a lot of potential if the landscaping is kept up better. Overall the small grounds area is very inviting and well set up. Just would help if it the upkeep was better. Overall the location is essentially on the beach so you can't beat that. Well, what can I tell you.. A picture tells a thousand words.. Place was not what we were expecting from seeing other reviews.. From the very first second we stepped into our unit it was horrible..|The smell of mold and mildew hit us as soon as we opened the door..They had strong air fresheners plugged in to mask the mold smell. ||The place hasn’t been updated in years.. the stove was filthy.. my wife had to wash out the coffee maker before we could use it..||We both woke up the first morning with headaches from the smell of the unit and my wife found the cause from black mold everywhere in the bathroom. ||We asked to switch rooms but was told nothing was available until the next night.. The Desoto inns was EXACTLY what we needed after evacuating from Milton. The first hotel we went to we found bed bugs and a narcotic pill and smelled terribly. We’re a family of 5 with a disabled 3 year old. We were able to get a last minute open king suite with a pull out sofa. Just walking into the property was a relief. The room was clean and there was no smell. The kitchen was perfect and there was enough room for us all not to feel like we were ontop of each other. The outdoor area is so beautiful and our kiddos loved the picnic area. The distance to the beautiful beach with not too many people was the cherry on top. Plenty of towels and linens.
