The Common Man Inn

Riding on a motorcycle, needing a place to stay while traveling throughout the Northeastern states. Vermont didn’t bring us luck but just across the border opened up a very reasonable opportunity and had a restaurant included. Traveling by motorcycle makes it difficult to ride even further just for dinner and possibly an adult beverage. Just walking into the Inn lobby, I was hooked! The grandeur of the cozy and masculine wood floors, brick and beams refinished from a former Mill, enticed me to notice the welcoming couches, chairs and fireplace for reading, chess and working on a puzzle. The clerks were exceptional in their pleasantries and recommendations. Including the “Inn Kitty”, who is extremely well behaved. Beautiful hotel, lots of history! The pet friendly accommodation is amazing, they offered a dog bed, and even brought a little goody bag with her name on it. The room is spacious, clean and has amazing views. The bed is comfortable and the shower has great heat and pressure. The restaurant was fantastic, it's a must! One of the best hotels we've ever stayed. Highly recommend!

Attractive lobby and architecture, including landscape. Quaint, well appointed room (except for electrical outlets all on one side of bed). Great location for our needs. Glad it's right next door to a decent restaurant. Wonderful staff. Definitely recommend its value if you'll be in the area.

I absolutely loved this place! The website does not do it justice. This place gets 5 stars on charm alone. The staff was great, and the room was much nicer than I expected. MOST IMPORTANTLY it did not have that musty smell older hotels tend to have. This will be my go to spot anytime I’m in the area.

I have stayed here 2 separate times in the queen garden view room, and this place is a hidden gem! Beautiful building inside and out, and on a waterfall! The restaurant is wonderful, really good food and great atmosphere, with live music sometimes. There's a walking path with a bridge nearby and a beautiful place to sit in Adirondack chairs overlooking the waterfall. I LOVE their jacuzzi, super clean every time! That's a huge one for me, It has a wall length mirror and a shower to rinse off, and a dial on the wall for the bubbles<3 This place is in a low populous town which is favored for a vacation. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, would highly recommend it.
