Needs sweat equity…||We were last here in March 2020, for six weeks. We had fond memories and so in planning a trip to more northern locals we planned a Fourth of July stop here. There was great advantage to this as the national park was crowded with beach goers, tourists and children anxious to see fireworks in the evening. It was nice to be able to walk back to our camper afterwards instead of sitting in traffic trying to get home.||They did not tell us however when making reservations that all of the activity would affect our stay,to include beach closures very low to nonexistent water, pressure and lack of shaded areas to camp. This last item we had been told we would have no trouble getting as we booked two months ago ||There is only one toilet and shower for all the tent and RV campe
Great location. plenty of space and a lot of activities to do all around the area. but kind of pricey compared to other similar camps
This park is wonderful. It was easy to arrange dates to stay and the staff was friendly. Park is clean and lots to do and see just at the Fort.
Arrived on Thursday evening for the 4th of July weekend and the staff is absolutely wonderful. The shower that's made available for those that are camping in tents, like us, is clean and cool there's a washer and dryer available for use also. And they had this cute little ice cream social today. The store has everything you may need that you may have forgotten.
Getting here is a little hectic. Tons of traffic. Once you’re on the island things get a bit nicer. The RV park is small and quaint. A little rundown. The camping store has a good selection. Nice employees. One washer and dryer. One bathroom stall for each, men and women. They’re big and have a shower in them. Usually clean. FHU in the circle/the sites with state names. W&E on the other side. You pull in and check in and then have to go out of the circle and over to your side. People in the circle tend to park in the way and you might have to go on the grass to go around. You get a day pass to go to the beach club. There’s a brewery on the island but it’s not the best. They do have lots of events though. The Fort is amazing. I’m not sure I’d recommend people staying here though lol. Depend
