THE CLUB-Lake Gaston Resort

Nice location on Lake Gaston. But this Club is very rundown. It obviously doesn’t enforce any standards on the full time trailers. Many are surrounded with junk and piles of leaves etc. we’re definitely leaving earlier than planned. Check in has no one to lead you to your site and we drove around for awhile on an unplanned “tour.” And don’t walk on the docks without nail shoe protection. You might get a nail or even fall through the rotten boards! Left fast because it’s basically a run down trailer park with junk and rotten picnic tables. Such a joke their “rules” say no hanging clothes lines or anything between trees. But people have piled up trash, wood, falling down decks, etc. should be zero stars.

This place is old, and new, but mostly old. It looks like it has been there for a long time and someone recently bought it and is trying to improve it, likely a long term project. The RV sites have cement pads and FHU. Ours only had 30/20 amp service. When we opened the sewer cap to dump there was residual liquid laying in the pipe from past guests. Our site had a small deck with a picnic table on it. There are single wide mobile home trailers scattered throughout the park, most of them are old. We booked for two nights but decided to leave after the first, just not our jam. You can stay as a guest for your first visit but then it’s some kind of buy in or timeshare. Not really sure how it works as the people that made an appointment to meet with us at 11:30a never showed up. We w

This place appears to have been a great place once. However lack of leadership and lack of pride of the facility reflects its current state. If you’re looking for The Club to provide an experience, you will be greatly let down. If you are looking for a beautiful location on the lake, it does have that going for it.

Charter member since 1986 who just can’t seem to gain access to reserve lodging . I wonder why?

This place is honestly a joke. We travel quite a bit and would much rather stay at a thousand trails than this. They charge $100 a night for guests which is absolutely ridiculous with how outdated everything is. The pictures on the website make it look better and the website alone makes it seem like a better place than it actually is because of how fancy it is. The bowling alley is whatever, the pool needs to be cleaned better, none of the arcade games were even on and the customer service here is absolutely atrocious. They gave us such an incredibly hard time to book an extended trip past the 7 days we are aloud with our membership, like ridiculous we had to call multiple times and go back and forth with multiple people then we get here and NO ONE is even here.
