The Burlington Hotel Bar & Shop

This is a boutique hotel with few rooms and limited amenities. It provides a wonderful experience in a unique setting. The historic building adds an element of adventure to the stay that is a welcome change to overly pampering cookie cutter chain hotels.

This hotel has very reasonable rates, so adjusting expectations accordingly is a reasonable approach when reserving. I wasn't expecting more than I got, and was neither disappointed nor pleasantly surprised. In my experience, buildings where cats live usually have a certain smell. This hotel is no exception. This was my least favorite aspect of my stay, but I knew about the cats before booking. The vibe feels like you are staying in a room in another person's home. The owner occupies rooms also, and there is shared kitchen, bathrooms, and living room. If you like a little more impersonal/anonymous feel, this may not be right for you. The cleanliness was ok. A couple areas of neglect noted though. The building felt like it needs some TLC, but it is serviceable. Bed felt well-used and

If your looking for the Ritz, this isn't it. If your looking for character and a comfortable room. Yes it is. The bar is a unique little place and the owner is fantastic. We would definitely stay again. :)

Very much enjoyed my stay at the Burlington Hotel. I arrived early and called the host who walked me through the hotel on the phone. This place made my hotel dreams come true: historic, clean, well-run... everything the traveler who wants to explore far away from the freeway is looking for in a hotel. I wish I was staying for more than one night. Thanks for everything.

Nice, cozy place to stay. Everything is clean and organized. Jennifer is a wonderful host, very friendly and pleasant. Our room was comfortable, the ceiling fan kept air circulating and the room temp was great for sleeping. The bed was a bit soft for our liking, otherwise comfortable. There is a kitchen with coffee, snacks, and microwave. Two bathrooms and a tv room with a refrigerator for guests. Motion sensor lights are strategically placed in the hallway and provide adequate lighting at night. The full bar is great place to congregate and enjoy a libation or two before turning in. Be advised there are two cats that have the run of the bar. If that bothered you, you might consider something different. Overall, great place. I would definitely stay here again.
