The Bark Eater Inn

My son and I spent three nights at the bark eater inn and it was awesome. The hosts are super nice and informative. The breakfast was included and just amazing. All fresh and really local. Location is easy to get to and convenient for all things ADK. Rooms were good and plenty of space at the inn. We would totally come back. Beyond the Inn, we love all the winter activities in the area. Had a great three day weekend.

The Bark Eater is a very special place in the heart of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. This farmhouse has been meticulously restored and decorated with a real aesthetic touch. The owners, Meghan and Tyler, are very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the region. Their daily breakfasts were a highlight of our stay, in preparation for our hiking and cross-country skiing adventures. The guest rooms are spotless and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. Ours, the Birch Room, had amazing views (6 windows!) of the fields and mountains. We felt like we could spend the cold winter months warming ourselves in the sitting room by the well-stocked wood stove. We had a small wedding at the Bark Eater in May 2025. Meghan did an amazing job not only planning the event but officiating the ceremony. My wife and I highly recommend the Bark Eater not only as a place to get married but also for a vacation stay while enjoying all that the Adirondacks High Peaks region has to offer. We have stayed there several times over the years while cross country skiing in the winter, kayaking in the summer and hiking all year round. And it turned out to be a special place to get married. We really enjoyed our long weekend at the Sentinel Cabin on the Bark Eater Inn property. The house was easy to access but private, surrounded by natural beauty. It was well appointed and stocked, spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the trails on the property where we skied and snowshoed. We would definitely stay again.

The Barkeater Inn is an Adirondack gem like no other. Their location is amazing, not further than a 10 minute drive from a myriad of hiking trails, skiing, and mountain biking trail networks. There is amazing access to walking/running and gravel biking right out the front door on beautiful, sparsely driven dirt roads. And if you are fortunate to be visiting during a clear evening, the star gazing on the property is absolutely incredible. The Inn and a cabins are beautiful, with a very homey feel to them that leaves you wanting for nothing. Everything was kept very clean, and the owners were incredibly attentive, addressing any need or question that we had.
