The Backwoods Motel

Very nice motel. Clean, friendly and quiet. Easy to book and great communication about what their processes are. Was surprised to find a kitchenette in the room, if we had a longer stay that would have been very handy. I can see why deer hunters and snowmobilers like this location. The beds were very comfy and easy to sleep on. Was nice to have the bar next door to grab a bite to eat as well. We even had some visitors outback when we arrived! 4 deer were there to welcome us. 🙂

Clean rooms! Very well Priced! At first we were skeptical with how low the price was but I would recommend this motel to anyone! The staff/owners were accommodating, helpful, and very nice. The only thing they don’t mention is the tree and small area of flowers with hundreds of hummingbirds that is amazing to watch! Would definitely stay again.

My family has stayed at the Backwoods Motel off and on for the past few years. We have been in 3 different rooms and have been completely satisfied with each one. These rooms are clean, have an open space, have been know to fit 3 adults, a toddler, and 2 dogs (1 large and 1 medium) and still have room to move around without feeling tight. Shannon and Tonya are friendly and are always eager to help. Best of all, these rooms are affordable and are in a quiet location but yet not too far from Iron River or even some wonderful lakes such as Ottawa or Hagerman and a few others. We will definitely be going back as this was the perfect place to end up after a 7-hour drive.

It was like walking into home. So clean. A kitchen with a fridge, and a microwave. Sweet women behind the counter. We will go back again if we can't get into our driveway again. Thank you for beautiful hospitality and amazing room.

The best motel I've stayed at, and ONLY $50! I've rented here for business trips in the past, and it is the perfect place to get away from all the noise. Rooms have a nice bathroom and kitchen area. Vintage tube TV, but they had cable so no complaints there. No cell service, but they do have free Wifi. The owner is Santa without a doubt.
