The Audubon Inn (Formerly The Audubon Hotel and Event Venue)

In Europe this would be graded as a 1 star hotel. (I've looked up the criteria.) Positives The bed was kingsize, the bathwater was hot, the Wifi did work. Disappointments Our decision to believe the glowingly positive reviews about this hotel was wrong. Obviously we all come to a hotel with our own expectations of what is 'standard' and what is 'wonderful'. Objective observations - no meals available during our stay - no curtains, and the blinds allowed the orange glow of the street lights into the room - bed positioned such that only one side could have a bedside table - only one electric socket in a useful position (we had our own extension lead, which helped even here) - no wardrobe (instead a coat rack with hangers) and no drawers or shelves for clothes - one bedside light,

This property is a mixed bag for me. The lobby is lovely and has a nice historic look. The A/C worked well, the bed was reasonably comfortable, and the plumbing worked. So, it has positives. ||Be aware you are charged a "historical restoration fee" and in our room, it was needed. The paint around the windows was peeling and there was mildewed grout (forgot to photograph) in the shower. The art in our room was between "quirky" and "creepy". Maybe other rooms are in better condition. The back jet on the whirlpool tub is positioned to be an uncomfortable lump in your back no matter where you position yourself.||There is no daily housekeeping, and the tiny soap sliver and 1 bottle of mini shampoo-conditioner would not last 2 people 4 days, which would have been fine, except the desk wa

Four star hotel?! 😆 🤣 😂 This is a one star dump. Dont believe the reviews! This place is an overpriced run down dump that is way past its prime. Hope you like sleeping on a cot with street lights in your face. Sad to see actually. What's sadder is the prices they charge for the dump this place is.

Absolutely loved it. Very beautiful. Very charming. The whirlpool tub was amazing! Staff were super friendly! Very clean. The bar on the main floor is gorgeous. The bartender Bill makes the best brandy old fashions. The only concern about the room is the squeaky floor boards. Our upstairs neighbor was up at 5 am and kept walking around the room until about 8 and we couldn't sleep at all during that time. That is not the hotel's fault, just something to mention. Over all, it was very quiet- just that time period with the people walking around upstairs
