* I had a very good experience at "The Angler Hotel Livingston, an Ascend Collection Hotel" and would book stays there again. * During my stay, this hotel was orderly, clean, accomodating, with the staff being nice, approachable, and "down to earth". My room was in clean good working order, had enough accessible outlets near the desk for my devices, plus had a pleasant modern renovation. All at a good price! * I read some of the complaints of others; my check-in interaction was positive even though I arrived late, staff still had ready-to-eat items available while waiting for cooked breakfast, and no hotel personnel was rude to me when things didn't go as planned. My only gripe is that the laundry units are usable only through a website. If some of the negative feedback is/was true, it s

Not horrible, but not great. Stayed for 4 nights, 2 of those the alarms kept going off and on for an hour or so. Bed is good if you like it on the harder side. Blinds would not roll up all the way because the chain connector was in the wrong place on the chain. The A/C unit was rattling which I fixed with a piece of paper wedged in the unit where the main body meets the plastic finns. The parking lot is Not lit up at all, neither is the front entrance at night. Coffee was cold in morning (2 days) side door closing mechanism was busted so the door stayed open, which is not safe. ||Again not the worst believe it or not. I travel almost weekly. I’ve learned to adapt.

Our stay was pleasant. Room was very clean. Restaurant was closed for some reason or other. Had several places to walk to and eat. We were woken up around one Saturday morning around 3 AM by a false fire alarm and then Sunday morning around 8 by the same thing. The staff that we interacted with were all very nice. Check-in was slow. No body was at the desk when I arrived at the front. Apparently the front desk was in the restroom.

They were remodeling, so no breakfast. When we checked in, there was a very strong smell of gas in the foyer. I let the front desk know. They said they have been researching it and it was tied to the laundry room. It smelled like gas the two days we stayed. On the 2nd day they said a pump went out, so there was no hot water to take a shower.

No breakfast available. Not even snacks. No creamer for coffee available. Manager said it had to be delivered on a truck rather than her stopping to pick up some since they were out of it for the guests. No coffee maker in the room. TV had no signal. I was very uncomfortable in the bed. There was a terrible smell in the hallway. Decided to go to another choice hotel for my second night in the area and it was so nice.
