Customer Reviews
Our stay at the Alden House Inn was a delight. The location and convenience to town is perfect. The gardens surrounding the Inn are truly spectacular. Our room on the first floor was perfect for my husband who has mobility issues. Thank you Lex and Nat for such a wonderful stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alden House. The house is beautifully restored and is located walking distance to the shops, restaurants and waterfront in Belfast. The innkeepers, Nat and Lexa, go out of their way to provide help, including allowing us to use their garage to store our rather large tandem bikes. The breakfast was awesome with Lexa’s homemade yogurt and other homemade goodies. There is a guest refrigerator and ice machine. The outdoor patio and wrap around porch is lovely. We look forward to returning here.
We had a wonderful time exploring mid coast Maine and we were delighted to rest and relax at this beautifully well appointed Inn. Lexa and Nat are attentive and interesting hosts with the right balance of connecting and sharing -yet giving lots of privacy and space. The Inn is quiet mid week and that gave us a very peaceful and refreshing stay. Our room- the Hiram Alden room- was beautiful with oriental rugs, antique furnishings and a fireplace with beautiful woodwork. The bed was luxurious. Our room came with thoughtful touches such as earth friendly toiletries, a Maine maple souvenir and terry robes. Each space in the Inn has been thoughtfully decorated and we delighted in exploring the antiques, novelties and the wonderful library and porch. We highly recommend this Inn for your vi
I am always a bit wary of "historic" inns. I have stayed in some that retained not only historic mattresses but the accompanying dirt as well! The Alden House Inn is a noteworthy exception. The Inn is fabulously updated with just the right amount of curated period furnishings. The bedrooms are clean, polished and elegant: comfortable beds & linens, fluffy and generous towels and lovely old marble sinks in the en suite baths. Fresh flowers mysteriously appear each day. The rooms vary in size and decor but all are thoughtfully accessorized. And, both myself and my travelling companions appreciated the well functioning window AC units in the bed rooms during an unusual heat wave. ||The Innkeepers, Nate and Lexa, provide gracious, committed and cheerful hospitality. The breakfast room
Larry and Rose have created a spacious and comfortable place and they pay attention to the details. Great coffee ready at 7, terrific shirred eggs and toast w juices and fruit for breakfast - or the great breakfast buffet. |We had a relaxing stay - clean rooms w updated bathroom and a good bed. Can you have too many pillows?? We sat out on the shady porch and let the world go by. Two minute walk to downtown Belfast - |Good value and very friendly folks.
