The Alander

I had a truly wonderful stay at The Alander, especially traveling solo with my two-year-old. The room was beautifully and thoughtfully designed; every detail felt intentional and calming. Breakfast in the room was such a treat: delicious yogurt and granola, plus a lovely assortment of tea and coffee to make in a French press. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, which felt especially luxurious after a long day. They were incredibly attentive and responsive via text, and I loved the thoughtfully curated map booklet with local things to see and do. It made exploring feel easy and welcoming. Between the location, restaurant and staff; this place was perfect for our needs. Close to a few ski resorts, cozy and quiet. We woke up to a message stating coffee and pastries were being served. My wife and I chatted with the co-owner while our kids enjoyed meeting the HR Manager (puppy). This was our first time staying here, but we’ll definitely be visiting again.

I absolutely loved my stay at The Alander. From the minute I arrived, the hotel felt warm, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable. The way they renovated the rooms are the perfect balance of retro-chic style and modern comfort—think antler accents, cozy leather couches, crisp linens, and plush blankets that make you want to sink right in. The room was incredibly clean and had everything you could need. Having a fridge in the room was a huge plus, and the bathroom was beautifully designed. The property itself is just as impressive. With sweeping mountain views and a large open field, it’s especially perfect if you’re traveling with a dog. We recently stayed at the Alander as we were progressing upstate for a family event and decided to split the trip up because of our toddler. When looking around for places to stay, we found the Alander. It was just what we needed for a great night. The online check in was easy and the room was very nicely furnished. Id recommend checking the size of the room before booking, we did that and it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The restaurant attached, the North Star, was absolutely amazing. We live on long island and are surrounded by really great restaurants and it was on par or better. My toddler loved the bolognese and the orange chicken. Overall, very nice little place for those that are self sufficient. Also, French press coffee, yogurt, and granola in room were a nice touch!

Stayed for my birthday in the Superior King. Our room was comfortable and clean with lots of amenities and a stocked "mini bar" with all kinds of goodies. The restaurant North Star, on-site is AMAZING! Can't say enough great things about this place. A diamond in the rough (:
