Great starting point for new campers or a regular spot if you like the area. 2-3 really nice loops with varying difficulty. Camp grounds are nice with an out house and good size fire pit with rotating griddle. You can fit two families in one campground. (We had 2 families of 6ea, 12 total)
DO NOT GO HERE! The good reviews must be old. After 1 1/2 of driving from Great Falls, (it's only 30 miles), I arrived to find the campground closed even though the website says its open. 15' miles of washboard and lose gravel then things get worse. Rock gardens and giant potholes make the road unpassable unless you have a 4x4 and drive 5 mph. The road has not been maintained for at least a year (I used to deliver rural mail). You have been warned and any damage to your rig is on you 😆 It says no offloading but if you saw the sign you have already been offroading.
This is a very nice camping area. There are plenty of easy hiking trails and lots of little creeks. It is a quick drive from Great Falls, MT. Most of the campground is among the trees which is a mix of firs and aspen. The bathrooms are clean for a campground and there is drinking water. Just a charming place to camp
This was our first time at this campground and I was a little nervous after reading the reviews. But the campground was great! There are 12 sites and they are spread out and we could barely see the site next to us. Our site had a picnic table and fire pit with a rotating griddle. The bathrooms were very close and there was a water spout. The creek was right next to us and it was so peaceful. Only down fall was the road to get to the site was pretty awful. We came from Great Falls, we had some highway and then some taken care of dirt road, but after you pass Arrowpeak Lodge the road is pretty terrible. Lots of large pot holes and sections of wash out. We had an SUV and a pop up camper, but some people did get their motorhome up there, but it wasn’t pleasant. The last 5 miles or so definitel
Stellar, realllll camping ground. Quiet and peaceful. Highly suggest the windy mountain trail, the view from the peak is stunning!
