Texas Inn & Suites Raymondville

Since the moment I arrived, I did not receive good treatment from the person at the front desk. I had to wait for them to give me my room, which on one hand is understandable since I arrived a bit early, but the excuse was that they were preparing the room — “it was being cleaned.” When I finally got in, everything seemed normal at first. However, when I went to the bathroom to use it, it was very dirty. I don’t think they even scrubbed the toilet because it had yellow water stains. Then I found old food inside the microwave. Fortunately, I’m only staying one night, but I would not stay here again. I would rather pay a little more and stay at the hotel next door, which looks much nicer and cleaner. It’s unfortunate, but the room was disgusting everywhere.

Nice room, seems like a safe enough place for a solo traveling woman. It was clean, quiet and didnt reek of weed, which seems to be the norm of most hotels (even though they say they are non-smoking). They ran my card twice and it was declined & I had to pay cash, which was weird, so I guess I'll see if charges pop up later.

To be fair, this hotel really deserves a very good rating, but I can't find myself giving it due to the cockroaches. The price is great, the rooms were clean, the staff friendly. However, there are roaches. Not a total infestation, but enough to make your skin crawl. We seen 2 in the room itself and then upon checking out, 3 hours into our drive home a cockroach came crawling up my arm!! (Gasp!!!) When we did finally arrive home to San Antonio, I thoroughly went through all of our things before I brought anything into my house and now I'm afraid I may have roaches in my Tahoe. Also it says free breakfast, but fails to mention you have to walk across to the La Quinta for breakfast. Which we really didn't mind. And the breakfast was actually pretty good. Owner is very polite. It was a great place to stay. Comfy room, nice bed, good showers. All was great. Rooms have been remodeled. All and all, I would definitely be back again.
