Taos Motor Lodge

A little noisy from traffic and people slamming doors etc BUT the room was clean and updated. The heat worked so well I had to keep turning it down. I spent a lot of time resting due to not feeling well due to the elevation and the bed was fantastic, soft and squishy. The cotton bed linens were so clean and crisp but soft and cozy at the same time. I'd have loved a bathtub but the shower is a good one. I felt safe here and appreciate that I could park right outside my room. The only thing missing is a microwave but I did fine without it.

It was a very nice stay. I want expecting much because we booked last minute to avoid bad weather. The room we initially received had a leaking ceiling. They put us in the suite for the night it was so quiet. For the price the place is great.

The good - the check in/out process was flawless, the price was good, the rooms were spotless clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location is great. The bad - the shades allowed light in from outside, not good for a person who likes complete darkness when sleeping, the water pressure in the shower was horrible, it was like taking a shower under an eye dropper. The noise from the room above was horrendous, like a herd of elephants wearing wooden shoes. Other than the bed, there isn't anywhere comfortable to sit. This isn't a terrible place but it's not great. Next time we're in Taos we will not stay here. Do yourself a favor and spend more money to stay somewhere better.

Positive: We booked the kachina suite and it was very spacious. It even had a hot plate and some basic pots and pans and dishes. The suite had two large heating/ cooling units to keep it nice and cool at night and make lots of white noise. Negative: There was an emergency EXIT sign directly in front of the king bed that was INCREDIBLY bright at night. The coffee was a keurig and it had a strange chemical taste.

The location is convenient, but noisy, and the price is reasonable for Taos. The rooms have been recently upgraded, but a bit too much in my opinion. The lights were dim and the TV wasn't working while I was there. I doubt ill stay there again because I didn't feel safe. The clerk who checked me and others in was very slow, seemed incompetent, but most importantly shared the key code for my room very loudly amidst a crowded office space of other guests and employees.
