Tanglewood Motel & Cottages

We had been traveling on our motorcycle from Vermont and the Kanc and were extremely disappointed in the outrageous prices of hotels in Conway, so we rode on down 16 and came across this motor lodge. It just so happened that this wonderful lady had a room in the motel part of her property, with no TV but a rate we could afford. We were grateful to accept! It was almost sundown, we had been riding all day and had a great restaurant less than a mile down the road. We returned after dinner to sit on a bench at the brook that runs right behind our room. The room is a blast from the 50s, complete with a metal shower stall, but everything worked perfectly, big fridge, a microwave, blankets and a wonderful Infrared heater with a view of the brook out our back window. We stayed at Tanglewood Motel and Cottages for the second time in Oct 24. Our previous trip was about five years earlier. The cottages are very basic / comfortable and offer a good value for the money. They are pet friendly which is very important to us since we travel with our German Shepherd. In our experience the owners have always been friendly and the cottages were clean. |Please be aware if you are looking for a luxurious updated place to stay with lots of amenities this might not be the place for you. If you want a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the area this place is pretty good.|Some things that might make the stay better:|In our cabin (9) there was a nice kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. It would have been nice if there was a microwave in the room to warm up fo

We loved staying at this rustic gem. The owner was very nice and gave advice on places to visit and eat. The area in back is gorgeous and peaceful. If you like an old school cabin, you will love this place-we did!

The cottage I stayed at was initially musty smelling (I believe only because all the windows were closed, after opening all the windows and putting their fan in one of the windows, everything was fine). My other family members had a bigger cottage and it was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay. The river behind the cottages was so clean and refreshing, we took our inner tube's in, so much fun (grandchildren had a blast). Plan on returning, maybe in the fall, I'm sure with all the trees it will be beautiful! Thank you Tangelwood.

So cute! We loved the firepits outside each cabin. Sitting by the creek reading while my daughter played was so relaxing. It isn't fancy but so homey and clean. The owners are super sweet and helpful. Upgraded us when we got there. The screened in porch was greatly appreciated. The beds were a little hard for my liking but not totally uncomfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
