My handicapped husband and I stayed at an ADA cottage. The cottage was very nice, clean, well kept and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was barely equipped though. There wasn’t a strainer for pasta, no lids for the pots and the dishes were minimal (like 4-5 each of plates, cups, coffee ups and utensils. If you had six people it certainly wouldn’t be enough. There were no large bowls to mix up any kind of salad and no containers for leftovers. There wasn’t a scrub sponge or dishcloth. You do provide your own linens so I brought dish towels and cloths but I thought it odd with the under equipped kitchen considering all of the clamming, fishing and crabbing to be done, I thought there would be a large clam pot to cook and steam them in. There were zero activities during the week. The weeke
We had terrible weather during our stay, with rain and a hurricane, but on the one sunny day of the week our kids loved the splash pad, pool and bouncy pillow. Due to the rain the staff accommodated us in moving from a tent site into a safari tent for one night and the safari tent was very comfortable. Facilities were very clean, though we came mid week and the camp was pretty empty, so not sure what it's like on a busy weekend. Store closes pretty early compared to other KOAs we have been to and the snack bar was closed during the days we were staying. My main complaints would be that the wood sold was super damp, the outdoor sink was clogged and the shower heads in the main bathhouse should be replaced. We would love to come back when the weather is better to enjoy the beach and the pool
We just spent a week at the campground. We arrived a day early by mistake and they were so accommodating, our site was available so we were escorted right to it. The Water view sites are by far the best I believe! The view of the sound was amazing and the breeze and open area kept bugs at bay. The office staff were great, the campground and its amenities were clean and well kept. The best part was the proximity to Chincoteague. Short 30 min trip and your surf side. The campground is out on the back roads and quiet. We can’t wait to come back and bring our friends! Great week!
This campground is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Narrow roads to get there. Once there, it has a small beach and a nice pool, but you can’t be outside AT ALL if mosquitos like you. They swarm all over, invade the camper and generally make your stay miserable. Also, they are the size of pterodactyls. We ended up staying inside the entire stay. We will not go back.
We did another overnight stay in the 500s sites. Large pull through, plenty of room for 45' + toad. Check in quick and efficient, staff is 5 stars. Only wish that the Wifi worked.
