Swiss Inn Motel & Lounge

We had a corner, ground floor room. The linens and bathroom were quite clean, and the bed was comfortable. We loved the larger size fridge, plus a regular microwave in our room. We also enjoyed walking only ~100 feet to the lounge to enjoy a nightcap. And checking in at the bar, where Steve also served as the front desk operator, makes for a great story: However, the lounge’s proximity to the rooms, plus a late night train or two, did make for a noisy night. We definitely would stay here again, but will keep the fan running all night. Really good value for the price.

The property is a bit older but perfectly reasonable for the price. I stayed in a room that was clean and adequate for my needs. It was a weekend, and the bar was lively with what seemed like a regular, close-knit crowd. The patrons were friendly with one another, though we didn’t really interact with the locals. Karaoke was in full swing, adding to the energetic atmosphere. Overall, it was just about what we expected. I did have some mild concern about the number of people drinking late into the night and the potential for parking lot mishaps. That said, there’s a parking area right by the motel/tavern, as well as additional overflow parking nearby.

This place always feels like home. The staff is great and always welcoming. The rooms are older but very clean and well maintained and the bar is a very casual family style place like I remember growing up in the rural midwest. I've stayed many times and have always had excellent experiences. It is truly a hidden gem. I travel alot for work and this is by far my favorite place I have ever stayed!!! Kudos to the family and staff.

Always stay here when in town, close to downtown dubuque, rooms always clean and great price! The little bar is awsome friendly staff cold drinks and hot food.

Stopped here for work last week. Staff is attentive, rooms are clean and a bar connected to the motel. What more could you ask for? They are still writing receipts on paper and I appreciate the lack of tech. If you aren’t overtly affluent, this is a fine establishment to stay a night or two. Good rooms at great rates with cable tv nonetheless !
