Sweetwater Campground, Ranch & Riding Stables

We have stayed at Sweetwater Campground the last 4 years. We always stay a month at a time, as we have a lot of family in the area. The campground is so peaceful. Owner and staff so nice and friendly. The bonfire and live music was so enjoyed. Loved my walks around the lake and seeing all the animals. We will definitely be back Lord Willing next year.

Most of the reviews are old. A lot has changed. It was a struggle to keep up with the amenities back then since most of the staff didn't show up for work. The owner downsized, had to close the restaurant due to the lack of reliable staff. A few years ago, a camp manager was hired, updated and renovated many areas of the park. They do an amazing job keeping the park clean and maintained. This is a quiet park and rules are being enforced. Dogs need to be on leash, quiet hours after 10pm and camp site needs to be clean and organized. The swimming pool is beautiful and clean. If you are looking for some tranquility, this is a good spot to be.

What a wonderful, peaceful, well maintained campground to stay. I loved my little cabin close to my family’s RV. Favorite spot was at the pond with a little fountain and relaxing view of a large green, tree-lined meadow. Saturday evening fire-pit concert was great. 🎵 Enjoyed hiking on trails as well. Had a fantastic time on Super Bowl Sunday 🏈 - a warm welcome by the owners, great food, big screen to watching the game in the lodge (and Seahawks won 🤩). My only regret is I couldn’t stay longer.

Easy to find, great spots, friendly neighbors, awesome & helpful staff! We stayed with family and set up a few RVs. Very quiet & peaceful at night. We stayed by the pond & it has a fountain light at night, gorgeous and relaxing! The playground for the kids is huge! & they offer a petting zoo with various animals you can feed throughout the day, very cool! Golf cart trails are in the woods surrounding the grounds and very easy to maneuver and ride through. All the kids had a pony ride as well. Will definitely be back for another relaxing stay!

This place is awesome! I didn’t want to return home:( The owner is very Friendly and extremely attentive! This was by far the most peaceful getaway I’ve ever had! All of the animals are well taken care of and loved for that matter. His staff is more than just polite. They are really funny and have great personalities all of them. I learned a lot about the different stages and personality of horses. I never knew while sitting at a campfire with some of the employees and the owner it was awesome. No riffraff of any sort and very clean too! All of the guests that we met that were staying there were so friendly and such good people. I will recommend this Campground everyone.
