Surfcrest Resort

Very nice homey resort away from the busy life of the city. Little to no cell service. There is wifi at the office area. The heated pool was super nice during the winter time and the walk to the beach felt like something out of a story book. The fire pit was active every night and the game room is stocked with so many movies. The pool table was fun as well. There is also a creek that you can kayak down. This place is truly an awesome getaway and I'd love to come back and make more memories here in the future. It's a great place to create new memories with friends and family.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. One staff member told me there were two wi fi routers and how to better your chances. Had cellphone service on the bridge and as soon as we hit the beach. Minor inconveniences. Room was clean and equipped. Gas fireplace kept the place warm. Was there off season but saw kayaks, canoes and paddle boats available. Nice pool area. Clean grounds and minutes from the beach.

Beautifully maintained nature paths leading to the beach, and more paths through the forest and to a gorgeous overlook of the winding river. There's a playground and basketball hoops for the kids, a big dog park by the river, kayaks and paddle boats, and a big community fire pit which the staff seems gets lit at night so it's ready whenever you walk over. On the way out to the beach you pass through this broad field of grassy dunes, and at one point you can spin around and see nothing but untouched nature as far as the eye can see in every direction, not a man-made structure in sight. The beach is gorgeous and not very populated. Usually just a couple groups of people spread quite far apart, and sometimes I'd go walk and not see anyone else out there at all.

Our daughter was told several times in the week preceding visit that pool was working and hot tub too. It was not. So stayed only one night because we had a 7-year-old who wanted to swim and do water play.

We had several cousins and family taking up seven units for New Year's. With small children it was nice to have a grassy area right outside the sliding doors for them to frolic in. The staff are very accommodating and it's a pleasant walk to the beach. The units all have a downstairs living area with full kitchens and a bathroom. Up the spiral staircase is a bedroom and a bunk bed area. There is a pool operated all year, a hot tub and a sauna. The only drawback noted by us were the small toilets, suitable for housebreaking children. There are a number of other beaches and hikes to drive to as well as restaurants and grocers.
