Super Shine Motel

Great area and had a wonderful check in experience with the manager. The room was clean and the service was really nice, I particularly enjoyed the community kitchen area. The location on the island was stunning as well. I would strongly recommend stopping here on any Route 66 road trip or just getting more towards nature a bit out of Chicagoland.

Super Shine motel is a diamond in the rough. The motel itself is cozy, quaint, quiet. It's right on the river and offers beautiful views at night. The amenities include a washer/dryer. Coffee, single serve, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday's (cereal, milk, bagels, cream cheese,fresh fruits, juice, coffee). Colton, the manager is just what you'd expect to find in a rural area: full of personality, energy, and hospitality. Recommended to anyone wanting a short, quiet home away from home.

Newly remodeled rooms. The managers aren’t always on location but always pick up the phone. Stayed almost 3 months. Worked nights for half of it and only got woke up by a lawn mower one time. Location is perfect for working at the refinery to the north. Traffic was manageable and plenty of food options including a well stocked grocery store close by. They have grills for use with a river view. Housekeeping came by every Tuesday and Thursday to clean after I left for work. If you are checking in after hours, bring cash and Mr. Ron can get you in a room. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Hats off to the manager Colton who was able to accommodate us on very short notice. He was friendly and very helpful. This is an inexpensive place with a good location and just the basics. We only spent one night here during a busy weekend for the area and it was last minute.

Our stay started out ok, the night manager was great and the owners worked with us. The room was dirty, the maid had an attitude and didn't come by during our stay to clean even once. Had an incident where I was afraid of a dog, wolf or coyote and honked to scared it away and the police were called on us because of it. Left early and won't be back. Previous owners were more welcoming and had housekeeping come two or three times per week and the room was very clean.
