Super 8 by Wyndham Olney

When I got there during the day the young lady giving us our room keys and explaining the rules of our stay was absolutely kind and very welcoming. However the man who's supposed to help throughout the night seemed dismissive and very rude about getting replacement keys. Whomever was in charge of the waffle batter needs to be fired because I have never stayed any Super 8 that didn't have a quality breakfast. I don't recommend staying here if you enjoy a good breakfast in the morning.

Having seen recent rave reviews about this hotel on other sites, I decided to take a chance and booked a weeknight. The hotel is undergoing renovations which were still in progress during my visit. The rooms have new paint, carpeting, lighting, beds, bedding, appliances (A/C unit, refrigerator, 1-cup coffee maker, hairdryer), sink, and vanity. The bathtub was old but the shower head was new and the water pressure was good. The dresser, desk, and nightstand looked old but functional. The carpet in the hall had been laid but not tacked down, and the stairwell carpeting had just been removed. The laundry room had new tile but no grout yet. A work in progress for sure. The best I can say about this place was the towels and sheets were clean and the entrance area and hallway smell fresh. From there downhill. The toilet wasn’t secured to the floor very well, the shower head was on the floor, no body wash, decor very dated, mattress was well past due to be replaced and the room was stinking with cigarette smoke. I told the manager and he didn’t seem to care what I thought. I probably won’t ever stay in another Super 8 anywhere again.

Positive: Cleanliness hotrlvstaff and cost. Negative: Lobby coffee machine inoperable for 3 days. Had to leave hotel and drive to restaurant to purchase my coffee.

Felt really run down. I understand it’s a Super 8 in a small town. Couldn’t get my thermostat to work. Room was pretty warm, the unit was just belching cool air out all night. I got in pretty darn late, so it’s just whatever yknow. I absolutely LOVED the tissue in the peep hole left there. Single female traveling. Felt very (un)safe. All good though. Room was clean, stank to high heaven. Maybe a little mildew almost Smokey. The fridge was off. Again got in late, whatever turn it on throw my food in hope for the best.
