Super 8 by Wyndham Oelwein

Wow! I started using Wyn Resorts a while ago and apparently expect too much out of some. Upon arrival we were charged a 2nd time even though we paid for it upon booking a month ago. None of the keys would work even after getting them reprogrammed NUMEROUS times. My dad had to stay on another floor than our rooms due to handicap accessibility, and after going to the desk Numerous times we were told the battery is probably dead in his card reader. The door just comes right open in room 110. Our bed was dirty. I had my husband get more towels and washcloths and he was told they already did…but clearly we had no towels so the had not. But said to call down if they didn’t have any when he goes back to check…..So we pick up the phone to call and imagine that, the phone and some outlets didn’t wo

Positive: Location and staff Negative: air conditioning didn't seem to work (I did not notify staff). The lid to the ice bucket had mold on it. Again, I did not notify staff, I was hardly in my room so not worth the time.

This was one of the best experiences at a hotel I've had in a long time. The place was absolutely spotless. The front desk people were amazing. The room could not have been nicer for a value priced hotel. When you walk in the lobby you know right away you're in a good spot. The place is super clean, there is no clutter and it even smells great. The manager/GM is Katie and she was working her tail off to make the place look great, greet everybody and make it a great experience. Well done Katie! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone that's in the area and looking for a value priced stay.

I recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Oelwein, IA. I had also stayed here several years ago, and I can say this visit was a noticeable improvement compared to my past experience. The bed this time was medium-to-firm, which I found much more comfortable than the overly firm mattress I encountered in the past. I appreciated that change and was able to rest well. The shower provided plenty of hot water, although the water pressure was weaker than expected. The bathroom, while clean, is quite small and feels a bit cramped, so it may not be the most convenient for guests who prefer more space. Very thankful that they were able to take us last minute with 2 cats and a dog. Due to a fire in an apartment in our building we weren't comfortable staying at our place until it had aired out due to allergies and asthma. Check in was a breeze and the desk agent was super helpful and accommodating!
