Super 8 by Wyndham Norton VA

I'm in town from Georgia till Saturday for my daughter's college conference. The hotel looks nice and clean. The parking lot looks nice and clean, but my room smells like a cigarette ashtray when it's supposed to be smoke free and what happen with free breakfast all we get is coffee. I'm not a breakfast kind of person, but I was looking forward to it.. I'm a housekeeper, my hotel has been smoke free for 5yrs now and none of the rooms smell like the room I'm in..I couldn't sleep well...

Positive: The suite was awesome. I didn't realize I booked it. Maybe the manager upgraded us after a terrible experience that had nothing to do with the hotel. I will definitely come back to stay. Negative: ""

Room smelled like mold and fish. Had to get febreeze and lysol to make room smell nice. Open the windows to air out the room. Used one of the cloth to clean the bathroom, before touching anything. Sprayed lysol all over everywhere in the bathroom. Sprayed down the beds, after pulling the covers down.

I'll lead off with the hospitality and service that we received they have been having internet issues and still got us booked into our room remotely which is great Thank you for that. If I would done more reading of reviews I probably works in a different hotel more in the wise area. When we arrived the room and the hallways smelled of Benji cigarette smoke I understand some of these hotels are very old and that can happen. But with only three cars in the parking lot that worry me. We got into our room the room looked fresh but then again it smelled of possible pet odors mixed with cigarettes smokes that have been trying to be covered up. I can deal with that! That's what I cannot deal with is that my wife goes into the bathroom and there's dried up feces on the toilet seat we're traveling

I understand Super 8 is a 2-star hotel, so I wasn’t expecting luxury—but I was still very disappointed. The room was supposed to be smoke-free, but it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. There was also hair in the tub, which made the bathroom feel unclean. We used the restroom and immediately left to check into another hotel nearby. This is the first time I’ve ever had to leave a hotel and rebook somewhere else. Definitely not the experience I was expecting.
