Super 8 by Wyndham Charles City

The first room smelled of mildew and regret. We were moved to another room that smelled better for the duration of our stay. I debated whether the floor or the bed was more comfortable. The bed won, but only by a lump. The location was convenient to where we were visiting, bit next time I will stay further away and pay the same for a better bed.

This is my first visit to Iowa. I can't say enough how great this hotel is. The staff is courteous, friendly, and competent. The location is close to all major highways, convient stores, restaurants, and grocery stores. Whenever I return, this will be my home away from home.😁

The hotel was ok for what we needed. We were on a hunting trip so we were not around alot but the bed we slept in was horrible. Hard as a rock and the pillows were comparable to small hospital pillows. Overall it was fine but he bed sucked.

I didn’t have high expectations, but this place is run down. Our room wreaked of mold. It was so late when we got in that we didn’t have the fortitude to start looking at other rooms to see if they were inhabitable. The AC was loud, the carpeted floor felt damp, the AC was loud, the walls and floors were thin so we could hear every foot step from all around. Breakfast? Cereal, some bread, bananas, a few yogurts, coffee and a juice machine. Meh.

Rooms are clean. No exercise room as said on website, it's now like a church nursery, the exercise room placard is covered with scotch tape and white paper. TV works, as long as there's not clouds around. Breakfast is ok, if you like self made waffles, bagels, and vending machine hard boiled eggs. WFi is mid at best. You better have Verizon for cell service or your our of luck 🫤
