Super 8 by Wyndham Akron S/Green/Uniontown OH

I gave this hotel the benefit of the doubt. ALL of the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My room was clean, bed comfortable, mini fridge, microwave, and TV in the room worked fine. Breakfast was simple but sufficient (cereal, quick oats, yogurt, waffles, coffee/tea/milk/juice). However, the hotel lobby and hallway reeked of cigarettes and marijuana. I am a nonsmoker and could smell cigarettes even in my 'nonsmoking' room. One of the bed covers had cigarette burns on it. Due to heavy smoking environment I moved to an airbnb after 1 night. Other cons: the jacuzzi and the pool were closed, and room walls were thin (earplugs were a must for me, you could hear your neighbors cough or snore). I chose to move on.

We booked our room online and arrived late in the evening. As we were walking through the lobby to the elevator, we were called back to the desk because something was wrong with the room we were assigned. The employee said they were “working up there” but he didn’t want us to have to wait. I appreciated his consideration, but I’m not sure they planned to actually use the room we were assigned. |When we entered the room, it was very warm. I immediately adjusted the A/C, but it never really cooled down, and we spent the night tossing and turning in an attempt to find the cool side of the pillow. |Our room was listed as “non-smoking” but there was a definite odor of smoke. I ended up getting congested and feeling like crud after one night there. The carpet had a dampness that we could not fig

Positive: Beds were very comfy. A/C worked well. Room was a good size. Good location, if a bit noisy outside sometimes. Nice staff members. Has an elevator. Small but nice indoor pool, open late. Free breakfast, but just waffles, kid's cereal, and toast. Negative: Needs a major update: sheets were stained, bed cover and curtains were torn and had cigarette burns all over them, all furniture was scratched up and the lamps had plugs (most did not work), no USB ports. Many wall outlets didn't work. Strong smoke smell.

Booked online and then paid a 50 dollar deposit, we looked at the room, it smelled the carpet was torn, so we turned around and said we were NOT staying. I never got my deposit back and we didn't even stay in the room for more than 2 minutes. The hotel receptionist was laughing at our complaints, yes LAUGHING. STILL NOT DEPOSIT REFUND AND WE NEVER STAYED. The lady said there were no other rooms available, what you see online is NOT what you get, the lobby is the only nice part. I mean the floor had a giant gash in the carpet as soon as you walked in, smelled of pet urine or some other undistinguishable odor. I want my deposit BACK!! REVIEW THE CAMERAS IF NEED BE, WE LEFT AS SOON AS WE GOT THERE.

Walking through the front door you’re immediately greeted by the smell of cigarettes and marijuana. The front desk agent was helpful and check in was easy. When we got to our room, lights didn’t work, outlets were broken, and the walls were paper thin. Also, the beds were hard as a rock. Between the dogs barking and the kids screaming, there wasn’t much rest to be had. Best part was the tv to distract from everything. They do offer a pool which is nice. They have a hot tub but was drained during our stay. They did offer breakfast and the choices were limited. Waffles that my son did not care for, cereal (but no bowls), and yogurt which was delicious. Hotel did feel safe but the 70 dollar a night price tag was too much for what you get.
