Sundance Lodge

How cute is Sundance?! We came up for the night to go to a concert in town so the location is amazing! The room was clean, bed was new and comfy. Hotels always need new pillows but great sleep! Water was hot and we appreciated the toiletries! We didn’t get the wi-fi password and in the winter it would have been nice to have some extra blankets in the room. But otherwise great overnight stay and we look forward to returning for a summer visit!

This place was great for a girls' hiking weekend to Brainard Lake Rec Area (about a 25 minute drive away). Although some shady guests in the other units, we felt safe (although we did not like having to shut the windows at times because of cigarette or marijuana smoke - ew). The inside was clean and the bathroom looks remodeled. The outside could use some upkeep/upgrades but the views are amazing and the location is great. Recommendations for when you go: bring fans to set on the windowsill to cool down the place and bring binoculars for birding on the porch. We would stay there again.

Shared by friend... July 2024, I paid $1,500 plus $250 deposit for a month-long stay at Sundance until August 15th. I am disabled and my elderly dog has cancer, so with the heat & fire danger, we needed a safe place to stay. Due to the length of my stay, it was necessary to move me into two different rooms. I stayed only one week in the room where I faced an issue with mice, something I was equipped to deal with on my own. I caught one mouse the 2nd night, then I started catching more...the night before moving back to my previous room, I emptied my 2 traps during the night, catching a total of 4 mice in one day. My move was delayed due to their cleaner being ill. It was annoying, since I had packed up my belongings to make a quick transfer, but I was so ready to get out of that mouse-in

Great little spot! Loved all the quiet and the closeness to town! Thanks again for a great stay!

Traveler beware: the photos of this property are probably 20 years old and the property currently appears to be minimally maintained and is in various stages of disrepair. Their prices have kept up with the times so it feels like a bait and switch when you arrive it’s nothing like the photos. Despite the non-smoking policy on the property, our room had lingering odors of being smoked in for decades. I will say that the things that matter most are indeed clean: bed/linens and bathroom; and communication for check-in was clear and prompt. Regardless, we actually left early and did not even stay the second night because it was such a derelict environment.
