Sun Canyon Guest Ranch

We were traveling home from Utah and wanted one last day/night away from the hustle/bustle of every day life. The ranch is about 8 miles from Dove Creek, did not have good wifi/tv connection, but welcomed our dog and was more like a retreat vs. hotel. We actually stayed in the hayloft - wonderfully surprised at how cozy the room was. We slept better then we had most of the trip, and were able to enjoy the awesome scenery and quiet. If I had a horse, I'd be back there in a heartbeat. As it is, when we travel through, that's where we'll be (if we can the great rate we did).

Gloria was fantastic. While not the easiest place to find, it is after all a ranch, and we had a great stay. Ranch level comfort, great pets and horses, beautiful views and sunset, and no ambient light leading to unlimited star viewing. Wasn't Looking for, not expecting a chain level hotel, and I don't understand any complaints. Go, lighten up, and enjoy yourselves.

If you're in Colorado and your travels or roads bring you near or around Dove Creek, make sure to stay here for a night to get a real feel for what beautiful country feels like from a completely different perspective. ||As a city-slave, getting into the country is something I always look forward to. This ranch gets you away and is perfect for a unique stay overnight or for a weekend during your travels in Colorado. ||Horses and stable, Mountain-Skyline 360-Degrees around you, endless fields and nature, some wildlife, beautiful sunsets , incredible stars at night and a couple cold beers when you arrive. ||Gloria is a gracious host and her ranch is simply amazing. ||

This review is for the RVr and does not speak to accomodations as we did not use them. I gave this 5 stars because my wife loved it and that means I loved it. This is Colorado high desert camping. Wild deer came through at dusk for water. Note, we we're in the trailer so they saw no threat. It's rural in every sense of the word. Yup, it's going to be a dusty drive on graded gravel roads, they start at road C. For the RV'r it's bare bones with 30amp (2 at each post, not sure how that works) and water, no sewer. Our verizon jetpack worked fine even though phone only showed 2 bars service. Digital TV had alot of stations even though FCC map shows nothing. Dish worked well. Parking is on mostly level natural ground meaning no improvement at all. We we're the only ones here. Very laid-back and

Saw their sign on the side of the road in town... called and spoke with a very nice lady let her know we were 15 mins away .. got a perfect.. see you soon.. sounded nice.. The road getting their will vibrate the fillings out of your teeth.. took us a little longer cause you can only go 10th because of the road.. Once we got there.. NO ONE WAS THERE.. no one answered the phone. . No lights on.. just empty.. we went miles out of our way for nothing... very disappointed. .!!
