Rooms are very small but fine - they're slope side so no real complaints. They are kept clean but need an upgrade similar to the locker room update in the basement. That is really nice! The common areas of the lodge are also very nice - the cafe, the bar and restaurant and the outdoor seating area with gorgeous views and fire pits are all really very nice! Don't bother paying extra at Northstar and just come here!
I recently stayed two nights at the hotel at Sugar Bowl. While the room, restaurant, and balcony updates were lovely, and the majority of the hotel staff were kind and professional, my overall experience was disappointing.|On the first morning at 7:50 a.m., I was woken by loud drilling and hammering directly below my room. I reported it at 8:05 a.m. and was told by the hotel manager, Jose Ty, that he would “look into it,” but I received no follow-up.|Later that day, staff were understanding and apologetic. Mr. Jose Ty then said the issue had been “addressed” and that construction would begin at 8:30 a.m. going forward, though no apology was offered.|Unfortunately, I was woken again the second morning at 7:25 a.m. by the same construction noise. Great snow in spite of our dry winter. There's virtually no such thing as a lift line at this park.So it's a super fun place to ski. We usually have lunch at judah lodge.Which is self serve, but lately, have dined at the main lodge by the gondola, which has waitt staff, but they have a heck of a time finding the correct table and you don't get the season pass discount there.
Love this resort. A little smaller than Palisades but it is just a stunning and has terrain for everyone. We switched to Sugar Bowl because the terrain is still incredible and there are NO LIFT LINES compared to Palisades. Best decision to make the change.
Unfortunately I can't comment too much. The only day I was able to ski there was pouring rain. I will say a couple things though, the rental department was extremely helpful brand new skies and Boots. The lift attendants very polite and friendly. I only did two runs though and the conditions that they were very bad. Not their fault.
