Studio Allston Hotel

This is not our first time at Studio Alston, and certainly won't be our last. As we walked under the overhang to the door my fiance exclaimed in excitement "ah! I just love this place!" Which I quote because I absolutely agree. The environment is fun and friendly, the downstairs game room and bar feel like a fun hostel, the atmosphere is more than welcoming including but not limited to the funky art adorning all the walls, the rooms are beautiful, and the staff is never short of amazing. We walked in to a warm welcome from Lucas and Klara at the desk, who poured out completely glass of wine for happy hour, and laughed with us a bit while we chatted about the show we were going, to and things happening in the area. This was my first stay at Studio Allston, and it a was a great experience! I travel a lot, and don’t usually write reviews but everyone was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Parking was super convenient and the location was perfect for my needs. Shout out to all of the amazing staff who helped with recommendations, directions, and making my stay super comfortable as a solo traveler. Thank you to Jonathan and Melissa who were the managers who assisted me. Klara was incredibly warm and welcoming upon check in. Shout outs to Mollidy, Dezarae, Ashleigh, Lucas, and Ervens who were ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever I had a question, or got turned around on my way to the lobby. Traveling alone can be nerve racking but these guys made my stay great! Will definitely be back.

I stayed at this hotel recently. Location-wise, it is a good hotel for visiting local universities such a Boston Univ., Harvard and Boston College, and it is a short commute into Boston. The room was clean and room service was good. One major drawback had to do with the loud, sanitation depot next door. I woke up to the sounds of loud sanitation trucks at 5:00AM two of the days I was there. The hotel also tacked on a daily $35 facility fee, which was not listed when I booked my reservation. I would have preferred to see this fee upfront when I booked the room instead of being made aware of the charge and when I checked in. Finally, there are 2 wings to the hotel. If your room is located on a higher floor in the south wing, you'll have a tedious commute to the front desk and dining area, ha

Positive: Location was great for me Negative: The toilet valve leaks. The hotel is just not that nice but it does have some quirky charm. I don’t like their huge hidden fees.

Stayed here for a fencing tournament this weekend. The rooms, elevators, hallways are dated. Feels very dingy. Charged $115 for a pet fee. It’s extremely expensive considering how much other hotels are charging. The front desk staff members are friendly. We had some construction noise issues the second night and they waived the facilities fee when I complained. They said it’s winter maintenance. The complimentary breakfast was the worst I experienced in a hotel. The only hot food item was the hard boiled eggs. Considering they have an on site restaurant I wonder why they don’t provide better breakfast. We stayed here because it is walking distance from the fencing tournament. Location is great for that. I won’t stay here again though. It’s just too dingy.
