Strawberry Lodge

It's older, it's quirky, it's different. It's got an insane amount of History for a building in California. The food was good. Drinks where good. Prices reasonable. Room was very basic, but clean and cozy. The fire place was amazing! Most of all, the staff there were all super nice, friendly, helpful, accomodating and knowledgeable about the lodge, it's history and the general area. ❤ Mike, the owner, David, Daniel, Dan and another gentleman, so nice but I didn't catch his name. He brought me a yummy sandwich. All wonderful and welcoming people!!! We had a large group and it was a great time spent there that will always be remembered fondly. This place made me smile. Absolutely outstanding! A wonderfully rustic old school lodge located within easy reach of lake Tahoe. The price of my room was very fair and they have good food here. And if you like to fish, hike trails or rock climb the Strawberry Lodge is a great starting point. I highly recommend this place if you want to get away and you love the outdoors. I will be going back. The locals are nice too.

Wonderful little mountain lodge with great staff and people. Everyone is inviting. The rooms feel like cozy individual cabins. The food is great. The back porch to eat on has an amazing view of the river. Small beautiful gazebo. Perfect setting for graduations wedding or other large events. Reasonable prices. Great time! Seated in the mountains only 25 minutes from Tahoe. Feels like a getaway to the mountains.

You might be wondering why I give this five stars. I give it five stars because it perfectly suited our needs. It is an old-timey lodge and really enjoyed my time there. Mike the owner was wonderful kind. The food was actually great we had a few burgers and BLTs on a few occasions this weekend :-) Dan the cook gave us some local tips. We spent a night and it was quiet happy peaceful beautiful bed was kind of like my grandmother's but in real good shape and extremely comfortable :-) felt like I was in Switzerland again :-)

Im giving this place 2 stars because it's nostalgic. But that's about it. If you want to take a trip back in time, this is the place you want to be! It's surrounded by beautiful scenery too! Down side, there is no AC and the "community bathroom" (shared restroom and shower among guests) is disappointing. Having a bathroom IN your room was an "upgrade" and an extra $60!!!! We were only staying one night and i figured i could stick it out. Otherwise I would have "upgraded". I figured I'd take a shower to cool down but the shower was disgusting. Dead bugs in it, hair at the bottom and had one pane on the privacy glass that was broken so anyone and everyone standing in the back of the property could be in view. There was a shower curtain but all of this made me practically run from that shower
