The host is very nice and the house is beautiful! Very comfortable stay.
This is a jewel of a B&B in New Market. You get the opportunity to stay in an historic home with a lot of charm. The first floor king room is extremely comfortable and a good place to relax. Karen Brenner and her family do all they can to make your stay a delightful experience. She serves up a gorgeous breakfast in your room every morning. There are also three beautiful family cats who stroll around the house and enjoy greeting guests. Overall, I would highly recommend this B&B.
This is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We spent two nights and enjoyed very tasty breakfasts. The first morning was blueberry pancakes and sausage. The second morning was an egg casserole and bacon. Great hearty start to our day. We had a great time at nearby Harpers Ferry and enjoyed the history refresher course there. Karen did a great job and we loved all the strawberry accessories. Our bed was very comfortable.
The innkeeper, Karen, went well above and beyond our expectations to accommodate us. Even though they were booked, she was able to provide us a room not normally available. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. The home-cooked breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. The house is nestled amidst a small community of historic homes and feels like you're stepping back 200 years, but with all the modern amenities. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and a nice change a pace. You can take a leisurely stroll. We enjoyed dinner across the street at Mealey's restaurant and later walked down the street to Milo's for ice cream. In the morning, I took a peaceful jog along the alleyway behind the house, which joins to a quiet neighborhood.
This B&B is on the main street of New Market. It is in an 1830's or so building. The Lincoln Room has a King bed, which is unusual, a shower-bath, toilet, vanity, Keurig machine with coffee selection, and a private back porch. The room has a grand piano of doubtful functionality. No TV (we didn't miss it).The hosts are accommodating: they got in some soy milk for us, stayed home so that we could arrive early and prepared breakfast an hour early on the day of our departure. The weekend breakfast is excellent: strawberries, yogurt and granola; waffles one day and omelets the next, sausages, orange juice, coffee or tea from the Keurig. The closeness to the street (10 feet) causes some noise prior to about 10pm. The back yard is very long and lovely. Three friendly long-haired cats live here.
