Strawberry Inn Lower and Upper Park

The cottages are very nicely kept and comfortable. This is a NO HOST facility, meaning there is no front desk or room services available after check in. Some of the cottages are dog friendly but there is an additional fee per dog with a max of 2 dogs per cottage. The cottages are located next to a road with minimal traffic during the evening but traffic increases during the day. Yet, it is still relatively quiet during the night. If you're looking for a quiet mountain retreat for the weekend or for the week, this is a great place to enjoy.

A great escape from the heat in the valley. We were in the airstream and absolutely loved it. Very clean and quiet. The coziest sheets you’ve ever slept in. Our first morning we woke up to 30 elk playing in the field outside our window. Great prices. We grabbed coffee up at Windmill Coffee, in front of the Inn. We grabbed empanadas from the Pie Bar. The airstream has a microwave, little fridge/freezer and a Keurig. This little gem is located in Strawberry and only 3 miles from Pine. There’s plenty to do within 20 minutes. We hike the Tonto Bridge, shopped in Pine and ate at That Brewery and Old Country Inn. We will definitely be back.

Strawberry Inn seemed like the perfect spot for a quiet getaway in the mountains—until all hell broke loose. One minute I’m sipping coffee in the lounge, next minute there’s gunshots echoing through town. Turns out they broke out the guy from the Van Der Linde gang in the sheriff's office next door, and pandemonium ensued. Windows shattered, folks dove for cover, and the sheriff looked like he was rethinking his career. Still, the beds were comfy and the scenery was nice… just wish I’d had my six shooter. It was nice of the hotel to compensate us for the chaos that broke up in town. Two stars—would’ve been five if not for the unexpected shootout that halved the hotels staff.

We stayed in one of the four reconditioned AirStream trailers. Very tidy, white interior. Microwave, mini fridge and freezer. No front desk ... you receive a text with access instructions. Cozy little patio w red Adirondack-style chairs for that early morning coffee (or amazing star-gazing at night!) Coffee/breakfast options are off-site ... the closest being a little spot on Fossil Creek just past Upper (shaded of course). We ended up walking to most places w a drive into Pine (not Pine Valley). Thank you 'Mike the Elk' ... I think we saw you this morning during our coffee walk!)

My wife and I had cottage #8 (just up the road from the main white building with the hotel rooms) it's a free standing building, a tiny house essentially, very nice, very cozy, quiet and right in the middle of early morning Elk grazing. About 0715 each morning you can hear the bugle calls and come outside and take pics if you want. Cottage was very nice: bathroom; heat/ac; TV; fridge; room to sleep 4 with the little bunk beds. Good fit and finish, plenty of lights for all areas, we loved it, can't wait to come back!
