Stratton Mountain Resort

In many ways, Stratton is an ideal ski resort. Beautiful mountain and trails with a heartwarming, even if prefabricated, village at the base. While the Black Bear Lodge is old and dated, the location and the shuttle service are outstanding. As for the village, so quant, charming but… beware price gouging and deceit. We went to Mulligans mid afternoon, had three appetizers and 4 beers: $200! While food prices were shared, beer and alcohol were not nor did we get an itemized bill until we asked. We went to The Deli and had 3 sandwiches: $60! While delicious, no prices were posted! When I asked some locals about this they said it allows these establishments to change prices daily or as needed to capitalize on crowds. So disappointing, disheartening if true. Regardless, we love the experience

The best ski resort in Southern Vermont. Fast lifts and tons of snowmaking, good terrain, and fantastic grooming. The only reason this review is 3/5 stars is the PRICES. This place is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. When we first started coming here 10 years ago, a plate of chicken tenders was $11. Now it is $24. TWENTY-FOUR DOLLARS for a plate of four tenders and fries. Thankfully we have a friend who uses his employee discount to buy us food. But it is insane to try and squeeze so much cash out of your guests. It dampens the entire experience. For a family of four, you could easily spend $125 for lunch with a meal, a snack, and a drink for each person. For some families, that is a weeksworth of groceries. You'd better buy sandwich supplies at the grocery store and just bring food to the mountain

Stratton Mountain is a mess of disorganized staff, trails and equipment. It has a nice look to it, with a fancy resort, child care and other amenities that make it seem like a great place. I've snowboarded at least 20 different mountains and this was by far the worst. 1. This place is hell for a snowboarder because there are a lot of flat sections that connect trails, these are not clearly marked. 2. Some of these flat sections to cross trails are labeled as Blue Squares which is horribly confusing. 3. The parking is atrocious, there are 3 or 4 lots and you have a hike a mile or wait an hour for a shuttle, it's a nightmare even on a calmer day 4. Went for New Year’s eve and then skiing. I’m disappointed at the buffet dinner. It was a mess and labels were wrong most of the time. Definitely not worth $70 per person. I just had one soup because it was the only option accurately labeled as vegan. One person from staff said he was going to confirm with the kitchen and then never came back. The ski class was ok. The instructor seemed knowledgeable, although instructors should limit themselves to teaching, and not comment about people’s/women’s looks. Humor was used when we were all together as a group and it was nice, but making comments to a woman (privately) about her is not ok. Ski trails are nice, but consider going early since it gets packed after ~11AM. The only cool thing was the fireworks show. I would personally only go for

Had a great time! Lovely mountain and people!! I would like to personally give a 'thank you' to the gentleman working at the rental shop on the mountain Sunday 3/1 afternoon (middle aged gentleman, I believe he was a manager). He assisted me with a rental return in a bit of an odd/unconventional situation; and provided a reasonable solution for the mishap. Again, I truly appreciate your help and fair customer service.
