Stratford Hall Lodging

We visited Stratford House on a weekday in August 2025. The weather had turned cool, and it was lovely to be out. The Cheek House was great, our room was clean, and the house itself was fabulous. It has a community kitchen area and living room, with multiple private rooms. We had the whole place to ourselves! The road to the beach and mill is a great walk, we did try a trail, but after a bit had to turn back due to several downed trees, but still loved getting out and got to hike to the pond before we turned back. The trails do need some maintenance, so wear long pants and spray before you go. The self guided tour of Stratford House was included with our stay, how awesome is that? There are also cabins and the Aster House too, though we did not see the insides of those, the looked fun. Go

We really enjoyed staying in a cabin here. It is a very peaceful, quiet place in nature. Some nice, easy trails on the property. The beach is small but nice. Exploring the grounds is a fun, low key way to spend the day for nature lovers. Cabins are quaint, comfortable, and clean. Though an extra blanket would be appreciated. There is no breakfast or restaurant on site so bring your own or eat local. We will definitely come back. No WIFI but our cellular service worked fine.

Beautiful quiet & comfortable retreat with abundant modern amenities. Helpful friendly staff. Enjoyed the breakfast and common areas, meeting other guests. Great launching point for exploring this historic area.

On a spur of the moment, we stayed in the Cherk House. Air conditioning worked great on a 90 degree day. . We were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves. Clean. Comfortable. Quiet. No TV in room, but that's okay. Great deck out back

My wife and I stayed the night here for Valentine's day and had dinner at the Dining Hall with Densons Farm to Table and it was exceptional in every sense of the word. The staff was diligent to make sure the room was prepared properly since we arrived early. The amenities were above and beyond, the cleanliness of the room was stellar! I'd highly recommend a stay here, we stayed in the Astor House but from what I've seen they all look lovely. We toured the grounds and had an excellent night's rest. No TV in the room but that's a good thing now a days anyway.
