This place is a joke. The landlords treat you like you're less than important to them. They speak to tenants in a demeaning tone, that is unbearable at times and typically rude. They are only out to make as much money as possible. Instead of updating the facilities the owners drive around in fancy new vehicles. READ YOU LEASE CAREFULLY!!! I informed them 55 days before my lease ended I would be moving out they said I missed the 60 day notification period which signed me up for an additional year automatically and said a new lease was already for the following year. I asked if we could pro-rate the 5 days due to the mistake, they said no. I had to pay the lease termination fee which was 2 months rent $1600 for a 5 day mistake? When I left they charged me $100 for cleaning and cleaning suppl

Honestly I’m really mad. Such a cute little hallmark movie lodge but they just don’t hit the mark with it. So much potential. The price point is good but rooms are outdated. Bed was very hard. Bathrooms not cleaned properly (hair on toilet seat and in shower) probably because their housekeeping is one old guy with a broom from 2002 and some hot pink cleaner. He woke us up not once but twice trying to break into the room. The first time was 7:30 am, the second time was 8:30 am. Check out is supposed to be at 10am. We told him both times we would be out by 10 which is check out and he said “10 minutes”. Honestly for the amount of cleaning done in the rooms I’m not sure why he is even starting to bug guests before 10am. “The lodge” this holds the dining area, fireplace and pool. It’s the cute

Please read up on Stony Brook Lodge before moving in. This place is alright if you’re in a bind, but expect nothing less than a rude and demeaning tone from the landlords from the day you move in to the day you move out. Internet is very unreliable and the entire network seems to go down at least once a month. Get to know your neighbors sooner rather than later because you are going to hear everything they do and say. You will also make plenty of new friends, with the bugs and the mice. You can kiss that security deposit goodbye. We were charged $500+ out of our security deposit to repaint THE ENTIRE APARTMENT because we used tacks to hang pictures. It clearly states in the rental agreement that tacks and small nails are perfectly OK. However, apparently they deemed the handful we used to

I generally don't do this, but I am very disappointed with the way Stony Brook Lodge conducted business, and I see it fit to write a review. First off, if any of you who are looking to rent an apartment and play an instrument look elsewhere. In the beginning of my stay at SBL I lightly played my acoustic guitar and I received a phone call stating that it strictly states in the contract that musical instruments are not allowed. Upon reading the entire contract, the only rule regarding instruments was that they should not be played past 10PM at night. I understand the need for peace and quiet, and I respect that, but the fact that these people clearly lied straight to my face is unacceptable. I also decided to break my lease four months early. I was thankful that they let me leave early wi

If you’re single and never home then you should consider renting, otherwise avoid. I rented here as a last resort and stayed because it was a convenient location for me but I was unhappy the majority of the time. There’s very little storage space. You can smell everything the other tentants cook. You can hear everything the other tenants do, including peeing in the toilet, coughing and vacuuming floors which some people do at like midnight. I tried playing music from a tiny bose speaker during the day and the people upstairs would bang on the floor. After all the things I’ve had to listen to them do I can’t even have my music to drown out the sound. WiFi is terrible and unsecure. You have no control over the heat or AC but you get emails about being told to keep the windows and doors shut.
