I’ve lived & camped in the area for many years. I have never camped here! Boy have I missed out! What a clean, quiet, & friendly campground! The bathrooms were SPOTLESS compared to most others. The attendants & hosts were friendly. The park ranger made rounds often. We will be back!

This is possibly my favorite Missouri State Park, but the winter rates are still higher than they should be, in my opinion. Both camping loops have beautiful spacious campsites with lake access. During the winter months, there are no showers available, and campsites with electric are $14.00. ( which is only slightly less than prices during the regular season when water & showers are available). If you need a campsite with electricity in this area during the months of December, January, or February.. this is your cheapest option, and it really is a beautiful campground on a beautiful part of the lake. Walk In camping details - 5 spots to choose from. I was able to scope them all out at some point during my recent stay. The walk-in path is adequate, but it slopes downhill regardless of which site you choose. Expect a bit more effort packing up to leave. I could be wrong, but site 2 / WI2 seemed the steepest. Sites 1, 3, and 5 are all connected by a golf cart path. They are far enough apart for decent privacy but close enough to give a shout if you're in one and know who is in the next one. These 3 sites would be nice for extended family or friends camping together. These sites mostly face east, however #5 will have a bigger water view since it's more

The host was super friendly, they cleaned sites and electricity boxes before each new arrival. They asked if we had visited before and told us where to find a trail to the water, also explained that the lake was known for sail boating.

Nice basic campground. Water spigots were well spaced. Bathrooms were clean. Campsites had adequate space. Would recommend.
