Staybridge Suites Philadelphia Valley Forge 422, an IHG Hotel

We stayed here due to the loss of our home in a fire. In the three weeks we've been here we've been mis-charged, locked out, had housekeeping barge in when the no housekeeping was on the door. Loud dog that was permitted to bark for about 10 hours NONSTOP. Now we have been uprooted three days in a row because of carpet cleaning service. The dates were 2/15-2/17. No one came. Today, 2/18, the manager came and forced us to move everything AGAIN AND WITHOUT NOTICE. Have our lives not been disrupted enough? This has been the most distressing time of my life and there have been nothing but problems and I've been made to feel they're MY problems, not the hotels. Don't stay here. For any reason. We are stuck for now unfortunately. I'll bet this review makes it worse for us too! There's a handful

Pros: The room- large, mostly clean, provided coffee, plates, pots, refrigerator and microwave. Larry at the front desk was friendly and personable. Coffee(even though wasn’t the best) is offered all day. Breakfast is offered- cereals, waffles, eggs, etc… Offer dove products within the room. Cons- The hallway carpet was definitely not vacuumed for a few days. Lack of support from the evening front desk. The smell of smoke when you first walk in makes it feel like a smokers hotel. The heater was an adventure. When it worked it worked. Made the room warm almost instantly. But when it got up to temperature, the air continued to come out but it was cold. The unit never stopped producing air which caused a constant battle to keep the room warm.

Parking lot is full of vagrants smoking and taking up the parking spaces. Not sure why there are so many “residents in pajamas” smoking and hanging around. Unsavory characters. Someone said they are full time residents. Dog hair in hallways, pool filthy and likely never cleaned. Rooms are dated and dirty. No USB, missing lightbulbs. Kitchen light burned out. Insects in the ceiling lights, extension cords everywhere. Bathroom vent fan covered with dust. WIFI sucks. Employees seem to be hardworking and decent. Breakfast was barely adequate, Unless you like dining with people who look like meth addicts.

Pleasant experience at this hotel. Very good breakfast selections, but the seating area is rather small. Staff is quite helpful. Decent size fitness room, but no barbel sets below 20 pound size. Felt the bed was very comfortable. Nice that a Starbucks is only a five minute walk down the street. On the opposite side of the street is a cemetery - spooky ! Just kidding- didn't see any spooks.

This is by far the worst place I've ever stayed. I'm staying here because my house burned down and it has been worst 3 weeks of my life. The maid staff just comes in despite having a sleeping sign some days and a please don't make room sign another day but still maid staff walks right in the room. Now the new thing is being told the carpets were being cleaned from Sunday to Tuesday where we needed to keep all of our stuff in the bathroom and on the bed so they can clean the carpets. We lived 3 days this way. And now Wednesday they try and barge in saying the carpets need cleaned today or else and we have to move everything for a 4th day that was never mentioned in the original communication. Don't stay here ever this is only a small fraction of the things that I witnessed or have seen, or
