Star of Texas RV Park

Should have done a better map recon. It's alright. It's on a major cross road to Dalhart and Amarillo and rails to boot. So it's noisy. The gate to get in would be tricky if we had less ground clearance. It's narrow and bumpy. If you're coming from Amarillo be ready to turn from the left lane instead of the right. If you don't need the electric you might try the picnic area on 54 to the north might just be a little less noisy. Dogs loose. And if not loose they're barking. Otherwise fairly neat. Utilities are good but realize that each stanchion serves 2 sites back to back. Not sure what it looks like when everyone is doubled up but I'm sure I wouldn't want to be there. Not ruling out staying again just not too impressed.

This is a nice little park that we stayed in overnight. It was $35 for full hookup. Plenty of space for big rigs. Right now they're using the envelope system it was really easy. Restaurants not too far away.

This was the third time we have stayed at Star of the West. We love it and our horses are happy. We plan our fall and winter trips around Stratford so our horses can enjoy the large corrals and rest in the middle of our journey. Thank you.

Friendly owner but lacked facilities, trees and some services. Go only if you can't find another location. Too barren. We did feel safe.

Great place to overnight with horses! Large safe pens or individual covered stalls. E and W hookups. Our horses appreciated being able to move around after 10 hours in the trailer. Easy check in at auto kiosk. Will definitely be stopping again on our way back home.
