Squaw Creek Eagle Nest Motel

Very cute cafe. Love the set up and it's so clean. Clean bathrooms and a selection of drinks and food. Only one driveway in and out. Quite a bit of parking here and there is a motel attached to here. Nice people who work here but ride. Being on the phone and dealing with customers at the same time. Their pumps stick a bit. So if it's not working let go of the pump and wait a second before starting again. But shouldn't be on the phone when customers are trying to pay for the fuel.

1 star only because I have to. My mother lives in the area and we have been here before, the 2nd time my mom and dad went they had a bad experience but my mom and I thought we would try it one more time. My mother, grandson and I stopped here to get some late lunch, waited over 25 minutes. A group of about 5 or 6 came in after us, ordered after us and received their food before we did. I went up to the regular cashier and complained. I explained we ordered a simple burger, pork tenderloin and then fries for the little guy. All we received was our drinks and mind you our waiter never came back even for those. We decided we were leaving as the cashier did not seem too concerned about us or our service. While we were sitting in the car letting it cool down out walks our waiter with an

2 new owners and it has been changed dramatically. Restaurant is clean and has a bar, has good food, menu is still a little small because they just started repairing and reopening and it's still a work in progress. But downstairs is where it's at. They have a sports bar that they are opening up in October. 2 or 3 pool tables, a bar, 6 tv's, a Trucker's lounge and showers. Soon there will be a touch tunes music player. Behind the store and Bar and Grill is a 20 room Hotel that is still being worked on but looks nice on the outside from what I've seen.

On our way to Denver Colorado we stopped here last night and fell in love with the friendly staff and highly recommended delicious cafe/bar. The atmosphere in this hidden little gem is like being around old friends you haven't seen in years. You get none of the suspicious " watch out for the strangers" stares "out of towners " recieve at so many of these smaller truck stops. From what I understand this place has a bad reputation from the previous owners, but don't let the old reviews detour you from stopping here. I would also like to add that the review about the hair in the burger a month ago was possibly true, but I far as I know there is no perfect cooking environment and accidents will happen. Been stopping here for a few years now, great customer service, plenty of truck parking, sports bar downstairs with pool tables, jukebox, darts. Washer and dryers. Great food, great people, what more could you ask for.
