The location is perfect. Very scenic area. The owner has a completely efficient system for reserving the room. The WiFi and television services were great, with perfect phone service. Room decor matches the scenic outdoors. I loved my stay here.
Particularly for hunting and fishing in the area, this is a great place. Run by Jack and Kathy, Sportsmen Motel has nine rooms and a grill for breakfast and lunch. The beds are comfortable, as are the rooms themselves. There are no phones, which is perfect for a beautiful getaway. There is great trout fishing, turkey and deer hunting within easy reach; there is also an eagles' nest 1/4 of a mile away. Dinner is available in town at Wings in Dorchester, or up the road in Caledonia (Good Times Supper Club is best). I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
We enjoyed our stay at Sportsman Motel. It was cabinesque, clean, and reasonably priced. Also close to Caladonia which is lovely town. Thanks for everything.
Came here for our hunting trip, perfect hotel while in Iowa hunting. Owner was very helpful and accommodating! Has a setup on the side of building with cleaning table and 4 gambrels. Comfy beds! Great stay!!
A well maintained, clean, comfortable place to stay. Minimal service so bring your own food. Well situated for NE Iowa outdoor activities.
