Sportsman's Motel

We were told to evacuate for Hurricane Laura. We found an opening at Sportsmans Motel. It was such a relief that they are pet friendly, and it was really a no hassle stay. We were there 2 nights, and walked the nearby trail. Modest but adequate room. We had a mini fridge and all that we needed to be safe and comfortable until we could return home.

Super clean rooms. There's nothing fancy about this place. But i was impressed with how tidy and neat the rooms are. You will need to bring your mobile Keurig, clothes iron and hair dryer though. The beds are comfortable. I dont like my mattresses quite that soft but id rather have them too soft than to feel like i was sleeping on a bed made of concrete. i would def recommend this place to stay at.

The service has been great so far. The staff has been extremely friendly. The rooms are spacious. I do wish the shampoo in the bathroom had more quantity than a single use for when you forget your own, but that's a small quibble. I'd definitely stay here again the next time I come this way.

For $60 with tax it was about what I expected. Older place but was clean for its age. I had 2 service dogs that they accommodated without any issue and even gave me a 2 bed room. Mexican place next door left more to be desired than the motel! For a quick decision and just wanting a bath and a good nights sleep Ive no regrets.

Although the owners are very friendly and nice people if you have no choice and need a place to sleep then I suggest this place. But if you can go somewhere else then do that. I paid for a week a couldn't bring myself to even stay one night. Had to send my husband the next day to get a refund. The room smelled horrible from smoking I'm guessing. Microwave was so out dated that because I've been an eagle lake resident all my life I know that it has more than likely been years since they've changed them and probably got them from a scratch and dent. It was claimed to be updated but when I looked at the mattresses, they were gray and smelled like they came from the dump. I was like nope, and I couldn't do it.
