We really loved our stay here. We stayed two nights in room #1, which was cozy, but very clean and comfortable for our family of four. What really made this place special was the owners. They went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful, and I enjoyed watching the hummingbirds darting between the many feeders and blooming delphiniums during the early evening, as well as listening to the many nearby horses whinnying in the early morning while drinking my coffee. We stayed here so hubby and kids could fish. I didn't expect to enjoy it here, since I don't fish, but I loved the quiet solitude, and just the rugged beauty of nature all around us. We are from Saskatchewan Canada, we stayed here one night Feb 13, 2026. We were on our way to Yuma Az, we were in our motorhome and since it was still winterized we didn’t have water. The Sportsman was kind enough to let us use one of the hotel room washrooms, being able to have a shower in the morning was great and very appreciated! Thanks to Bonnie, she was super friendly and accommodating! I would not hesitate to stay here again!

I really valued the excellent customer service that I received. Ken and Bonnie were very kind and vigilant in providing details about my stay and reminding me when to check out. We stayed in Room 1, and the keypad on the door made it easy to get in when we arrived late at night. The lodge is an old building with a mountain cabin charm, and it felt very comfortable and inviting. The only issues I encountered was a clogged sink and figuring out that if you have the heater on and you close the door that separate the two rooms, the back room will heat up like an oven while the front room will have a more controlled climate. This issue was solved when I opened the dividing door and allowed some airflow between the rooms. Overall, it felt like I was staying at a relative’s rather than a stranger

My husband and I stayed one night in the motel on our way south this year. It was easy access off I15, room was very well appointed with exceptionally comfortable bed. We did have a little hiccup with the room but the owners went above and beyond to deal with it. Best customer service we have ever experienced, will definitely stay again on our way through Melrose MT.
