Split Rock Resort

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY ELSE WHERE !! I'm not one to "be that guy" but I had a horrible experience here and I think its worth sharing. Arrived @ 5:30 pm (check in is 4pm,) and I am told my room is not ready yet and is still being looked over, so I had to leave for an hour and come back. I finally get checked into my room which I'm hit with a nasty odor, the room had to be 80 degrees, the window was cracked and broken, the shower water was straight yellow, the bath tub was peeling and un safe to stand in to shower on top of the water quality. The room just felt gross as well, so I took a few photos and showed the front desk, there response was they were going to send maintenance to come fix these issues. (no way they can be fixed that quickly) Instead I was able to convince them to switch

Please save you money and go elsewhere. This place was by far the worst resort we have ever stayed in. Besides the beautiful front lobby and the one restaurant the rest of the resort is disgusting. The room has numerous issues, Heater not working, A worker actually told us to turn the oven on and leave the door open to heat the room. Wallpaper was peeling, ceiling had repairs that look like a 1st grader did them. No pots or dishes in the kitchen, no paper towels or dish soap in the kitchen either. One bed had hairs on it and another had a blood stain. New bed clothes were provided but they didn't have someone to makeup the beds. Positive: The family suite with 2 bedrooms was phenomenal. The children were happy and comfortable. They were very excited that they had they own room. The pool area was very spacey and the hot tub as well. Negative: The elevator was a bit scary. It closes door too fast especially for an elderly person. The door needs better sensors to detect when someone is still trying to enter elevator.

Our stay at Split Rock was absolutely incredible from start to finish. It is hands-down the cleanest, most updated resort we’ve ever visited. Every space — from the rooms to the common areas — was spotless and beautifully maintained. You can tell they truly take pride in every detail. The updates throughout the resort give it a fresh, modern feel while still keeping that warm, relaxing getaway atmosphere. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and enjoy every moment. I’ve stayed here twice. The first time, the rooms were freezing cold and there was a strong urine smell in the bathroom. When I complained, the staff handled it and were polite about it. They even responded to my review apologizing, so I decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. I came back for my niece’s birthday, and most of the games in the arcade didn’t even work. Once again, the room was freezing. The jacuzzi was dirty, the room phone was broken, and overall the place looks like it’s screaming for a renovation. For the amount of money they charge, you would expect way better. They’re charging 5-star prices for 2-star rooms. My family and I ended up leaving the same night. If you’re looking for a fun, clean, safe place for you and your family — stay away from here. No response
