Spencertown Inn

This is our go-to when we want to take a quick trip for skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer. It essentially functions as an air bnb which is fine, it feels private and homey. Our daughter loved having the pull out couch to sleep on. The hosts told her there were snapping turtles in the lake - she is dying to see one.

The definition of a hidden gem. HUGE suite with calm views of a pond and woods. Owner/manager is on site and very helpful. Only 5 units so each unit is ridiculously spacious. Conveniently located to Tanglewood, Norman Rockwell museum, and several restaurants. Bucolic landscape and calm country drives abound.

Online searching in the Columbia County area of NY put us in a bit of a quandry trying to decide on a place to stay...then we found the Spencertown Inn. I called to ask a few questions and Andrew and Lauren were quick to respond and we made our reservation. Absolutely no regrets! | The location is centrally located, yet located in a quiet, wooded area. We actually had deer and several herons near the pond. It is very quiet there. | The building and furnishings are in excellent condition with plenty of space,a large shower and other amenities.| Andrew was quite helpful with suggestions of places to dine and in giving us some information for locating points in the area. | We would most definitely stay there again!

We were driving through the area when a snowstorm hit, and were lucky enough to find the Spencertown Inn just up the road. The owners, Keith and Teresa, were phenomenal hosts. Their warmth and thoughtful hospitality made us feel right at home-- they even went out of their way to bring us food to cook in the spacious kitchen downstairs, since we couldn't drive out for dinner or groceries in the heavy snow. The property is quiet and cozy and comfortable, well-appointed and clean without being overly modern or severe. Our room had a kitchenette and balcony overlooking the pond, a serene and beautiful view to wake up to. The rate was very reasonable, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone, and would definitely stay there again!

I have stayed here a few times. The location is beautiful. The view of the lake in the morning is a real treat. The quiet suits me perfectly. What I do hate is leaving the bed. I'm not sure what magical beings made those beds but they are the most comfortable beds I've had in all my travels. Perfect for my tired legs from hiking or skiing.
