Spark by Hilton Daleville Roanoke North

Needed a hotel as we were traveling through the area and I love the Hilton brand. Right price, great location, hotel was clean and neat. No elevator would’ve been nice to know before booking and I would’ve booked the first floor. It’s a basic hotel but it has what you need for a quick stop.

Positive: Hilton level cleanliness Negative: The ONLY thing that was annoying was that the clerk asked me if I wanted an upstairs room without telling me that there was no elevator. . So I schlepped a lotta bags up the stairs. better to tell the guest up front about the lack of elevator

This is the third Spark hotel property I have stayed it and since they've been a mixed bag, it inspired me to look up the chain and their purpose to remodel older hotels in order to allow them to keep the nightly rate low. Pros: to this property - room was inexpensive, remodeled, spacious, good lighting, convenient to 81. Cons: The bathtub was clearly from the former hotel and in sad shape - coating was pealing off and it made it looked dirty. Plumbing worked fine, but I was a bit apprehensive. Air conditioner didn't appear to work well. I happened to be there on a cool night. The room temp was comfortable when I walked in so didn't notice it was off. When it began to get stuffy I turned it on, worked when switched it on, but it didn't keep the room cool, not an issue when it wasn't hot ou

We were happy with everything here. We only stayed one night here on our 900 mile drive and it was perfect for one night. Smelled clean, absolutely pristine bathroom, easy in and out. Friendly front desk staff, nice restaurants right in front of the hotel. Nice view of the mountains also. The price and quality were appreciated.

The hotel was newly renovated but it barely covered the intense smoke smell from previous cigarette smokers despite the hotel indicating it was smoke free. It was so bad that we left after sleeping only a few hours. I don't know why other travelers have rated this so highly but I would not return. I would not consider this good value for the money.
